Museum of Modern Art, Tarragona
The Museum of Modern Art was created by the Provincial Government of Tarragona in 1976 to promote the study and knowledge of modern and contemporary art, as well as to conserve and exhibit its artistic heritage and share it with the community.
Located in the “Part Alta” (historic center) of Tarragona and resulting from the merger of three 18th-century houses, the museum is equipped with an auxiliary library, a documentation center, and a photographic archive. In addition to the permanent collection, the museum also periodically organizes temporary exhibitions of contemporary art.
In its photographic archives, they preserve photographs from the competitions organized by the Provincial Government during the 1960s and 1970s, and a specialized library in 19th and 20th-century art, mainly from Catalonia.
